First Ave Rocks will be attending the Sand rock Hoe-Down Clean-Up day Saturday, March 20th. Help do your part to make the south a bit less dirty.

This will be a chance for all First Ave Ambassadors to begin renewing their status or for new members to get their Ambassador status. Just like last year you MUST attend AT LEAST two trail days per year to qualify for the discounts @ HP 40. Be sure to sign in at our tent prior to collecting trash. Also be sure to wear your FAR shirt and represent!

Lunch served at 12:00 (free for all volunteers). Huge raffle after lunch and snacks, drinks, lunch and mini-prizes to all volunteers.

All proceeds go to help Sand Rock and local climbing access issues.

What else are you going to do on a snowy day?

Moss Rock Preserve needs your help! It has been an entire year since the last climber organized clean up and its time we get to it! The clean up/trail day will start at 8:30am and last until we are done (in the past it has only taken a few hours). The City of Hoover will provide materials & the Southeastern Climbers Coalition will provide lunch!

Then…

First Avenue Rocks presents the first competition in our 2010 series. This will be a red point format bouldering competition with beginner, intermediate, advanced and open categories. Registration is 20$ for members 25$ for non-members. Participants will receive a shirt. Climbing starts at 4pm.

First Avenue Rocks has membership packages, punch passes and gift certificates for the outdoor enthusiast on your list.

Last week 25 new climbs went up on the barrel wall, 15 on the front boulder and we reset the Moon Board with some new madness from Ben and the UK boys.
